WHO AM I
Hello! My name is Brandy and I love all things after-school. I am a Springfield, Missouri native, have a Masters in Early Childhood Education and Family Development, and have spent the majority of my life working with children. As a former teacher and current Director of Programs & Unit Director for the Boys & Girls Club, I have found that some of these ideas and programs are effective in a variety of child care settings. Alternatively, some ideas and programs fail, and it is important to write about those as well.
This blog then, is a way to achieve my life goal: to make the world a better place for kids. The chunk of time between school getting out and parents being available is crucial. So, I hope you can find some great ideas, management techniques, and activities for the kids you hope to impact.

It is also important to note that much of this is a product of working with great ideas and great people over the last 10 years. In that way, this blog is just a messenger for after-school professionals to share ideas and create a dialogue that makes the world a better place for kids.

On a personal note, I am married to the greatest man on Earth-Spencer. He is kind, has a PhD in Communication, runs 2 business, has a podcast about beers and board games (The Mixed Six Podcast, and has excellent taste in women. Together, we are raising a lil dogger named Murray. Murray is mean and probably hates you. I am a KC Chiefs, KC Royals, and Jayhawk fan. I love shopping and make-up and clothes and people and movies and tv and my family and my friends and throwing parties and Spanx and decorating my mantle and the Boys & Girls Clubs!
